What does it include?
The course is designed to encourage you to develop the personal skills and qualities you need for work and learning, and to help you achieve your full potential. The course is made up of 8 units: 3 core units, 2 compulsory units and 3 optional units and they are:
Core:
* Starting Work in the IT Industry
* Working in the IT Industry
* Developing Skills in IT
Compulsory:
* Personal Effectiveness
* Financial Management
Optional:
* Using the Internet
* IT Applications
* Digital Devices
You will also study Adult Literacy and Numeracy at Level 1.
What do I need to get on it?
You will need to have 4 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade E or an Entry-level 3 qualification including Numeracy and Literacy. You will need enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to achieving.
Where does it lead?
When you achieve the Introductory diploma you may progress on to the Level 2 - BTEC 1st Diploma in IT or an alternate Level 2 course (subject to interview and satisfactory references).
