Entry requirementsWho is this course for? Young people aged 16-18 who wish to pursue a career as a professional dancer. What do I need to get on the course? # 4 GCSEs at grade D or above, including one humanities subject, # BTEC Introductory Diploma with merit or distinction and key skills at Level 1.

This course gives you the opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of dance. Performing is a key part of the course with regular performances throughout the year
What will I study?
You will study a range of dance styles and devise choreography for performances throughout the year. Performance is a key part of this course, and you will explore a range of dance styles, including jazz, ballet and contemporary dance. In the final term you will work as a dance company to create and produce a final show for the public. You will also study the business aspect of the industry
What can I do after the course?
Students from these courses have an excellent record of progression on to Level 3 courses. On successful completion, you can go onto courses such as the BTEC National Diploma, AS/A2 Level or into related employment
