Entry requirementsEntry onto the course is by interview. You will need to bring with you some examples of your work that you would like to talk about, a reference from school or college and your National Record of Achievement. At interview you should demonstrate potential to benefit from this course. You will have 4 GCSEs at grade D or above – ideally including English Language – or an equivalent Level 1 qualification.

What does it include?
This course will introduce you to production skills, methods and knowledge that are used in the media & communications industry. You will use this learning to develop media work in;
- Video Production
- Audio Production
- Research
You will be taught by experienced and dedicated lecturers in excellent purpose built digital media facilities at our Paddington Basin Campus that have been awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status by the Learning & Skills Council.
We believe that it is important to support you so that you can pursue a future in media, so the course will include helping you to improve and develop your communication skills with additional Key Skills qualification study. You will receive group and individual tutorial support to keep you on track and if needed additional learning support is available.
Where does it lead?
When students successfully complete this course they have the opportunity to progress onto a National Diploma Media vocational qualification course to develop, in greater depth the relevant knowledge and production skills needed to pursue University study or career opportunities in media industries.
