    Do you want to know more about the travel and tourism industry? Do you want to find out what this industry is all about? Then come and join us at the City of Westminster College on our BTEC First Diploma in Travel and Tourism course

    There are no exams, but you will be expected to complete coursework in order to gain the qualification. You will be finding out about how the travel and tourism industry is made up and how it functions. You’ve all been customers and know that “the customer is always right” – well find out differently when you start to explore customer service. Have you ever wanted to know how an organisation sells its products and services? You will when you study marketing. Why not discover more about travel and tourism destinations in the UK as well as holiday destinations in Europe. Last, but not least, you will have to use all the knowledge that you have gained and develop good teamwork because you and the group will have to plan and take part in a residential. The course will also include a number of field trips.

    Over the year you will take a range of the following units, which are called:
    -Introduction to the Travel and Tourism Industry
    -Introduction to tourist Destinations
    -Introduction to Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
    -Introduction to Marketing in Travel and Tourism
    -Introduction to the Business of Travel and Tourism
    -Organising a Travel and Tourism Event
    -Work-based Project
    -Travel and Tourism Study Visit

    You will also take key skills in Communication at level 2.

    What do I need to get on to it?
    4 GCSEs at grade D or above.

    Where does it lead?
    This course could lead you into employment, or possible onto the BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism course.
