Entry requirementsYou will need to be a qualified and practising Counsellor having completed a Diploma in Counselling that meets the BACP requirements for Professional Counsellor training. You will have to demonstrate your capacity to study at the third year of a BA honours degree. Written work will be undertaken as part of this process

Course descriptionContent details BA Honours Conselling involves undertaking Modules in Research Methodology, writing a Research project,studying Freud and object relations, Professional issues and supervision, the counsellor in the organisation and counselling and society. The aim is to critically analyse a wide range of counselling orientations and to develop your own personal integration of these within your practice. It is also to allow you to deepen your knowledge of counselling theory and apply this to your practice.
How is the course taught
The programme is taught by means of lectures, discussion of case studies, seminars - including student presentations, tutorials and students' own research.
Assessment
Assessment is by coursework - essays and presentations. It includes a research dissertation.
