Course descriptionCitizenship is a major component of the school curriculum at all stages of education. This dynamic and interactive course explores some of the key issues associated with the role of the citizen and the place of citizenship in a global society. The main elements cover teacher engagement across disciplinary areas, the linking of practical activities and current societal issues, and the exploration of the nature of citizenship.
What will you study?
You will gain an overall understanding of citizenship and will look at the problems and policies associated with citizenship and internationalisation. You will also study the global issues affecting citizenship and explore the issues of identity and discrimination. In addition you will study cultural heritage and active citizenship, as well as looking at the role of organisations and institutions in defining global citizenship.
