Children's and Young People's Nursing (with professional registration) - Course

Entry requirements The normal requirements for embarking upon this course are:

Possession of a 2:2 degree or equivalent professional qualification.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs (grades A*-C) including Maths and English or appropriate Key Skills Level 2. A science subject is preferred.

Due to the association with the National Health Service (NHS) and restrictions on funding and placements, non-EU students are not eligible to apply for this course.

However if you have been educated overseas but have unlimited leave to remain in the UK you may be eligible to apply for the course.

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that you can understand English to a satisfactory level. English language requirements for this course are normally:

IELTS (Academic) 7.0 with a minimum of 7.0 in each component of writing, speaking, listening and reading or equivalent.

Course description
Working with and caring for children and young people requires specialist knowledge and skills because their needs vary according to age, growth and stage of development. The needs of children, young people and their families are not only related to the science of nursing (the theory) but also to the art (practice and caring) of nursing.

Throughout this course you'll develop the ability to deliver value based and person-centred nursing care using a humanising approach that respects equality, diversity and dignity. You'll graduate as a compassionate, accountable and safe practitioner able to think critically and deliver high-quality care that is safe, effective and evidence-based.
