The ILEX Level 2 Certificate in Legal Studies course opens access to the study of basic legal principles to those currently employed or seeking employment in an area where such knowledge will feature or underpin their work. This course is intended to be attractive to those interested in a legal environment such as legal secretarial or paralegal staff (barrister/court clerks) who seek to advance their understanding of the law they use everyday. It will also be useful to those working or interested in general areas of business where the law may feature such as employment/debt matters or consumer and retail law, as well as the Civil Service and local government. As a 1 year course it is a suitable "taster" qualification for students embarking on their legal career or for those who simply wish to further a specific interest in law and practice.
