Content details
This part time in-service course runs in conjunction with Canterbury Christ Church University. It is for teacher/trainers working in Post-Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) The course is designed to meet the first stage of the professional needs of teachers in the Lifelong Learning sector, as well as the general professional standards laid down by LLUK. Year one of the programme has two parts - Preparing to Teach and Certificate to Teach, in the Lifelong Learning Sector. The programme will follow the newly revised national standards, and leads to Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), as determined by government policy at the end of Year 2. You need to have a teaching placement and be able to complete at least 75hours of teaching practice during the year.

You will be taught using a variety of strategies, group work, presentations and lectures.
Assessment
You are assessed through course work, assignments and teaching practice.
Course leads to
Those who successfully complete the Certificate year will then be able to progress to the Diploma year.
