ObjectivesThis course provides a cost effective postgraduate qualification for new aspiring managers, enabling the realisation of high quality employment opportunities. It leads to membership of the Chartered Management Institute and many graduates achieve promotion during or shortly after completing the programme.
Entry requirementsCandidates must normally have completed: The DMU CMS programme, or have successfully completed the equivalent at another recognised institution - i.e. have accumalated 30 CATS points at undergraduate level and 30 points at postgraduate level. Alternatives to the above, consideration will be given to candidates who hold: -a good Honours degree of a British University, or a recognised equivalent overseas qualification, or -Membership of an approved professional body, or -Some other acceptable qualification You must also have sufficient practical experience of public administration, industry or commerce to enable you to profit from and contribute to the programme.

Course descriptionProgramme
Students come from a wide range of roles in both private and public sectors, bringing together a variety of knowledge and experience. Personal and interpersonal development is actively encouraged.
The CMS programme structure is as follows:
-Financial Planning
-Managing Operations
-Marketing and Customer Services Management
-Managing People
Attendance is required for one afternoon and one evening per week. Assessments may be individual or group, and will take the form of projects, presentations, and written reports.
