BSc Robotics

  • Objectives Robots are no longer just science fiction. They are already on sale as toys (such as Lego Mindstorms) and as domestic appliances (such as the Dyson DC06 robot vacuum cleaner). And this is just the beginning. The World Robotics report produced by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe predicts massive growth in the robot industry over the next decade. This means lots of jobs for people to design, market and regulate this burgeoning sector of the economy. This new degree aims to prepare people for these roles. Whilst there are a few other degrees in the UK that teach some robotics, none is geared to producing the fully-rounded professionals who will be essential if Britain is to compete with the US and Japan in the up and coming robotic economy.
