Objectives
The BSc (Hons) Public Health programme addresses key issues, including the reduction of health inequalities, partnership and mutual responsibility, economic and social factors. The NMC accredited routes are: BSc Hons Public Health Nursing BSc Hons Public Health (Occupational Health Nursing) BSc Hons Public Health (School Nursing) and BSc Hons Public Health (Health Visiting) These will be delivered in line with the ‘Standards of proficiency for specialist community public health nurses’ [SCPHN], NMC 2004, for health visiting, school nursing and occupational health nursing. The course will address the new competencies as they relate to public health, and contemporary public health challenges of the 21st Century.

Entry requirements
The BSc Public Health is the top up for the Foundation degree in Public Health and Social Care. Applicants must have this or an equivalent foundation degree in Public Health.
