Objectives
The study of cellular biology and molecular genetics has a profoundly influenced many aspects of modern science, not least medical research and the development of new ways of diagnosing and treating disease. This course provides an opportunity for you to follow the rapid advances in these areas, to develop an understanding of the implications of the Human Genome Project and discover the importance of the exciting new subjects of genomics and proteomics. You will be prepared for careers in medical research, the pharmaceutical industry and many other aspects of healthcare.

Entry requirements
Entry Requirements Typical points score for entry 200 points. More specific requirements for this course are normally as follows: GCSE passes at grade C or above in Mathematics and English Language plus one of the following: At least one 6-unit award and at least two 3-unit awards, one of which must be a science. BTEC award with a Diploma or Certificate in Science. Advanced GNVQ with a merit in Science. Successful completion of the Science Foundation year at this University.
