  • Entry requirements Selected entry requirements English language: 6.5 in IELTS or equivalent English qualification A level: Grades ABC. This should include at least one science. Two AS-levels are accepted in place of one A-level. General Studies is welcomed but not normally included as part of the standard offer. Unit grade information: The University of Manchester welcomes the provision of unit grade information which, like all other available information, will inform the consideration of applications. Unit grades will not normally form part of offer conditions, except for Mathematics programmes. GCSE: English Language, Mathematics and at least one science required at grades C or above. Key Skills qualification: The University warmly welcomes applications from students studying the Key Skills qualification. However, as the opportunities to take these modules are not open to all applicants, currently this is not an essential requirement of the University.     A broad, general degree programme, covering all the major aspects of Earth Sciences - ideal if you want to keep your options open and are uncertain about your future career plans (whether in Earth Sciences or in general employment). Laboratory practical work and fieldwork are major components.
