Entry requirements For September 2021 entry: 104-120 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM.

Course description This degree has been developed to meet the demand for skilled, professionally competent, Design Engineers. With access to cutting-edge features including 3D scanners and printers, modern manufacturing & technical workshops and cutting-edge prototyping facilities, you’ll develop an expert technical knowledge, while being encouraged to think creatively about design problems. You\'ll discover how to use the latest solid modelling, rendering and product simulation tools to create and evaluate your own designs, as well as gaining an in-depth understanding of the engineering principles underlying the product development process. Designed to develop your abilities in this exciting area, the course content integrates technology, arts, market awareness and the skills needed to use advanced product development tools. After building a solid foundation of knowledge in year one, you’ll develop your design skills in year two. In year three you’ll have the chance to complete a 30-week work placement, and in your final year you’ll display your design project at our annual Festival of Design & Engineering, which is open to businesses and the public.
