BSc Cosmetic Science

Objectives
This course provides you with the scientific and technical background required for a career in the development and manufacture of cosmetic or toiletry products. The degree focuses on cosmetic product formulation, understanding of the principles of cosmetics and related sciences whilst developing critical analysis and research skills. The course also looks at marketing, management and manufacturing principles and the practical applications associated with the cosmetic industry.

Entry requirements
You are normally expected to have GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent). Successful applicants are normally expected to hold either: at least 160 points from two or more A-levels, including chemistry; or at least 160 points from two A-levels (Applied subjects) in science; or a BTEC National Diploma in Science with MMP and at least four merits in the final year, excluding common skills. Entry from appropriate Foundation/ Access courses will also be considered.
