BSc Agricultural Business Management

  • Objectives What is the future for British agriculture in the 21st century? Can farming continue as a profitable industry or does the British countryside face economic decline? Farming is no longer a matter of growing crops and animal husbandry. Today’s farmers also need to be business astute, aware of environmental pressures and legislation and be able to anticipate future UK government and EU policy directives. These programmes provide a balance between breadth and specialist training and include a thorough grounding in agricultural practice, business management, and legal, environmental and scientific principles. Good business management skills and practices are emphasised and aimed at equipping young farmers of the future with the necessary skills to succeed in an increasingly changeable and competitive market. As a BSc(Hons) student, you are encouraged to reflect on the theories and principles of agriculture and land management.
