Academic titleBEng Mechanical Engineering
Course descriptionContent
The first year provides a basic grounding in the fundamentals of engineering. All the modules are 'core', ie compulsory, and are common with our aerospace and motorsport engineering degrees. It is possible to transfer between degrees on successful completion of the first year.
The second year takes analytical subjects including maths, into more depth, and covers such areas as stress analysis and dynamics.
In the final year (BEng) or two years (MEng), there is a significant amount of choice within the programme, allowing you to specialise, perhaps with your chosen career in mind. The extra year for MEng students includes study at Master's Level, and a much larger research project.
