ObjectivesThis course allows you to select modules from a range of topics including electronic design, communications, software engineering, computer modelling, microelectronics, power generation and distribution, electrical machines, signal processing, renewable energy systems, and instrumentation.
Entry requirementsRequired subjects: For all courses, applicants must have maths at A2 level (or equivalent), and A2 level in a science or engineering-based subject. We do not accept general studies as one of the three required A levels. There is also a foundation course available for all our courses. IB score: 30-32 (5 maths + science)

Programme
Year one
You will gain an understanding of the principles and practices on which electrical and electronic engineering is founded, achieved through the study of analogue and digital electronics, the application of electrical energy and practical work including programming and projects. Your appreciation of the aspects of science and mathematics, which underpin the subject, will also be enhanced.
Year two
You will continue to develop your understanding of electrical and electronic engineering. This will prepare you to study, in the final year of your course, emerging and advanced technologies usually taught by internationally recognised researchers. Group projects, presentations and seminars enable you to gain the skills and understanding essential for the workplace.
Year three
In the final year, you will be able to choose from a range of specialist topics. You will also undertake an individual research project, which forms a major component of your final year.
