ObjectivesThe Data Communication Engineering degree combines elements of networks, system design, digital and analogue electronics, software, signal processing, and physical technologies. The pioneering Sheffield Industrial Project Scheme gives level two students the chance to work on real industrial problems.
Practical experienceYou will carry out a major project in direct collaboration with an academic supervisor from one of the department's research groups. This stage extends your experience, with an emphasis on individual project work, in your chosen specialisation.
Entry requirements-GCE/VCE A Levels - AAB-ABB -BTEC National Diploma - 2 Distinctions and 1 Merit including Mathematics -Two GCE A Levels plus two GCE AS Levels - AB+AB or BB+AA -Scottish Highers - AAAA-AAAB -Irish Leaving Cert. - AAABB-AABBB -International Baccalaureate - 33 points -Core Requirements - GCE A Level Maths and Physics.
