Entry requirementsApplicants will normally hold a social work qualification recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council or a qualification in an allied profession. You must hold at least a Diploma level qualification, such as a Diploma in Higher Education (DipHE) or equivalent. If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with minimum 6.0 in each component.

Course descriptionThe National Centre for Post Qualifying Social Work offers a portfolio of courses designed to raise standards in social work practice and help social workers demonstrate their competence to work within complex situations.
The Children and Family Studies course is Stage 2 of the revised Post Qualifying Social Work framework and is the specialist award for Child Care Social Workers.
The award is designed for qualified child care social workers from statutory, voluntary and private agencies working in all settings. You will have already gained 40 level H credits via the Consolidation and Preparation for Specialist Practice unit (formerly PQ1).
This course will enable you to:
Build on your social work knowledge and experience, developing your competence as a child care practitioner
Gain further knowledge and skills needed to undertake the role of a child care practitioner
