  • Objectives As the tourism industry comes of age, there is great enthusiasm throughout the world to develop tourism for economic and social benefit, with more and more places becoming tourism destinations. However, it is now acknowledged that unmanaged tourism can cause intense pressures and problems. This popular course is designed to help you manage the future of tourism. Tourism development needs to be planned and managed to ensure that it is sustainable whilst balancing the demands of visitors with the needs of the environment and the host population.

    Provides a foundation understanding of the nature and processes of tourism development, and of planning and business concepts. It focuses on the nature and structure of the tourism industry, and determinants of tourism development.
