BA Theology & Religious Studies

  • Objectives People's beliefs affect the way they live, and are therefore very influential and important in contemporary life. Religion and faith remain strong and vigorous in so-called 'secular' modern society. In our degree programmes, we emphasise the encounter with people of all faiths, by travelling out of York St John to places of worship or projects, and by inviting speakers into the classroom. We study theology and religion in real life situations, and so come to a better understanding of our diverse, multi-cultural world, in all of its aspects: religion, culture, politics, and the faith lives of individuals.
