Entry requirementsEntry requirements * Normally 220 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of two subjects at Advanced Level (or equivalent) * And * Normally Five GCSE's at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths. However, we are also keen to talk to mature students (21+) who have relevant industry experience and/or relevant training but who do not meet the above formal qualifications. * BTEC Diploma/Certificate, Advanced VCE(s), Advanced GNVQ, Scottish Higher and Irish Leaving Certificate.

In an increasingly sophisticalted society, employers' expectations are constantly changing. They no longer want or expect skilled technicians - they can use training courses for add-on skills. Instead they expect graduates who can thinks laterally, who can use 'emotional intelligence', who can atticulate a concept and then make that idea happen within a team setting. The Society and Information Degree at De Montfort University will equip graduates to statisfy these needs.
The management of Information is now regarded as one of the major challenges for both public and private organisations. Students on this degree will draw on a range of disciplines to understand different ways of interpreting and using information. You will be able to locate the processes of information handling firmly within social context both sociological and ethical.
