BA Social Work
-
Objectives
This is one of the first new Social Work degrees to be accredited by the General Social Care Council (GSCC), taught by a department with a long-established tradition of excellence in social work education. Our BA Social Work degree course came 2nd nationally in the Guardian Newspaper's 2006 Alternative University League Tables. The course combines academic study with progressively more practical involvement with social work practice. On successful completion of the course you will have undertaken 200 days of accredited placement experience and be a fully-qualified social worker on registering with the GSCC. Course fees will normally be paid by the NHS and students are usually entitled to a bursary of around £3,000 each year.
