Objectives
The degree produces graduates versed in the disciplines of Politics and Law, who are capable of pursuing a range of careers in the public and private sectors. It develops your written and oral communication skills. The work placement programme develops your employability skills, enhancing your career prospects.

Entry requirements
Entry Requirements The UCAS tariff range is 200-280 points, which must include as a minimum one 6-unit award. A level Politics is not a requirement. We welcome applicants with alternative entry qualifications, provided that they can demonstrate their suitability for the course.

Course description
Course Structure
Year 1
You will study British Politics, Political Philosophy, International Relations, Constitutional and Administrative Law and Legal Methods and Skills.
Year 2
You can choose from a range of modules on British Politics, Political Theory, International Politics and Development Politics. You also study compulsory law modules, European Community Law and Tort, as well as completing a work placement. You can also spend part of your second year on a Foreign Study Exchange.
Year 3
You choose from a range of specialist modules on British, European and International Politics, Political Theory and the Principles of Criminal Liability. You also complete an individual supervised dissertation on a political legal topic of your own choosing.
