Objectives
This course allows you to follow an exciting and innovative curriculum rooted in the practice of photojournalism as it happens in industry today. It offers you the knowledge and skills to become a professional photojournalist with a degree. You will cover real news events; photographing politicians, celebrities and other newsworthy people, while standing side-by-side with the professionals.

Entry requirements
Applicants will normally have 2 A level or 2 AS levels supported by 5 GCSEs grades A-C, or a National Diploma or Foundation Diploma or equivalent experience. Applications must be supported by a portfolio of photography work.

BA Photojournalism
Programme
Year one develops your news photography using both digital and film technologies. You will also learn news reporting, caption and feature writing, media law, ethics and codes of conduct, how news organisations work, and gain an in-depth understanding of news and news values.
Year two expands your photography into shooting features, photo-stories and photo-essays. You will also learn how to consolidate your work into an editorial portfolio and how to approach picture editors for employment as a photojournalist.
Year three allows you to develop your work further into a major project and produce an extended piece of academic writing which contextualises your practice.
