BA Music and Journalism

  • Objectives This course provides the opportunity to develop skills in music and in journalism alongside a study of their social and cultural aspects. Core modules in Media Theory will allow you to investigate the nature and organisation of media activities. A choice of music options allows you to develop your skills as composer, performer and critic.
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements Typically 280-320 points including C in A level Music, or Music Technology, plus six further units of study in relevant subjects (normally English, Communication Studies, Media Studies). BTEC candidates are normally expected to have a Certificate/Diploma in a relevant subject with four Level III Distinctions. Strongly motivated candidates who can demonstrate an equivalent knowledge with other qualifications are encouraged to apply. Candidates intending to undertake performance options in music should have reached Grade 8 of the ABRSM.
