Objectives
Media Prodution develops skills needed in the media, including production skills in video, photography, audio and new media; academic skills in analysis, critique, reflection and research; and written skills, from academic writing to web-based publishing.

Entry requirements
Entry Requirements: Our typical minimum entry requirements for applicants with A levels/AS levels/BTEC is 200 points. Applications from students with non-traditional qualifications are welcome.

Programme
1st year overview
Modules concentrate on introducing academic, critical and practical skills.
For example, Introduction to Creative Media Practice provides foundational skills in photography, video, sound and multimedia, and Reading the Media explores how we engage with and understand the media.
2nd year overview
This year enables you to develop your key areas of interest as you start to tailor your degree to suit you. Media and Cultural Theory, The Moving Image and Web Practices modules are supplemented by three additional modules of your choice, covering areas such as digital audio, photography, magazine production, documentary production and work-based learning.
3rd year overview
In the third year you will continue to hone specialist skills. You will undertake a supervised dissertation (counted as two modules) an extended project that enhances your critical and creative interests, which could be a project in any area of practice on the course, a written exploration of a specific media theory, or a critique of a body of work. You can then opt for four further modules from a menu that includes drama video production, interactive media production, magazine production, photography, sound design and broadcast journalism.
