BA Journalism Studies

  • Objectives Journalism Studies is a career-focused course which will give you the skills to work in print, broadcast and online journalism, as well as related media careers. You learn how to gather, organise, write and present information in various ways. You learn relevant law, political organisation, ethics and standards. You practise journalism, day by day, on the course and have the opportunity to do work experience. And you study the products of journalism, its history, ownership and organisation, and the application of media study to media products.
  • Entry requirements Entry requirementsGCE/VCE A Level - ABB Two GCE A Levels plus two GCE AS Levels - AB + AB. If two GCE AS levels are offered in Year 13, offer is AB + BB Scottish Highers - AABB (to include at least one Advanced Higher) Irish Leaving Cert. - AABBB BTEC Level N - 2 Distinctions and 1 Merit International Baccalaureate - 34 points

  • Course description Our students usually select from a range of compulsory and optional modules to add up to 120 credits.

    Some departments offer courses that don't feature optional modules whereas other courses are fully flexible.
