Objectives
This course is run jointly with the Department of French. Journalism Studies is a career-focused course, which will give you the skills to work in print, broadcast and online journalism, as well as related media careers. You learn how to gather, organise, write and present information in various ways. You learn relevant law, political organisation, ethics and standards. You practise journalism, day by day, on the course and have the opportunity to do work experience. You will study the products of journalism, its history, ownership and organisation, and the application of media study to media products. This new dual degree combines applied journalism and modern languages, giving you knowledge and skills highly valued by employers. As a dual honours student reading French you will spend approximately five months at a specified university in France.
