BA International Economics

  • Objectives This course is particularly well suited to students who wish to study international trade and international aspects of financial economics. Modules in International Economics form around 20 per cent of the course in years one and two, increasing to 50 per cent in year three. There is ample opportunity to take modules offered by other Schools in the University. International Economics is available as either a BA or a BSc. The choice is up to you, and is determined by the modules you select in your final year.

    Programme

    Year one

    In year one, you take modules in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Quantitative Economics or Mathematical Economics and optional modules from Economics or other Schools.

    Year two

    In year two, you take Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory, Quantitative Economics, Applied Economics (multinational firms) and optional modules from Economics or other Schools.

    Year three

    You take modules in Economics of International Trade, Monetary Economics, two from Economic Development 1 and 2 and Economics of the European Union 1 and 2 and a selection of modules from the wide range of third-year economics options.
