BA International Business Management

  • Objectives # his course equips you with the knowledge and expertise to pursue an international management career # As globalisation increases, more organisations have to work beyond their traditional regional boundaries and compete in diverse global environments. These organisations need experts who can work across multicultural barriers and develop effective international strategies # This course develops your understanding of international business theories focusing on such topics as managing international operations, international strategy and risk analysis, and principles of international business # You attend lectures, small group tutorials and computer workshops, and use case studies # You can also gain valuable international experience by spending a year overseas during your work placement (with the four-year sandwich route), subject to availability
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements * 220 points including a minimum of 200 points from at least two full 6-unit awards or one full 12-unit award * You should have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above * If you've got other qualifications or relevant experience - check out the UCAS tariff conversion table via the UCAS website

    Programme

    -Year 1 explores key aspects of financial and information management, and of people and organisations. It introduces the key principles of international business by drawing on related subject areas including economics, marketing and HR in an international context.
     
    -Year 2 looks at the dynamic interplay of power involved in the business planning and decision making process. It explores how culture impacts on organisations and business functional behaviour both within and outside of national contexts. Your second year also offers an understanding of the strategic issues affecting international logistics and operations management.

    -If you do not wish to take up your option of a third year work placement, you can move directly to your final year which analyses key business policy decisions in the development of the globalisation of production and markets. It analyses risks and opportunities in a changing global business environment, and you also get the chance to prepare a work-based project/dissertation of your choice.
