Programme
Managing people has always been one of the most challenging aspects of the managers role. It is now recognised as one of the most crucial business functions, as organisations seek to make more effective use of the creative energies and potential embodied in the people they employ.
Year One of the programme provides an introduction to employment issues and develops key business skills and an understanding of the broader business environment. In Year Two, students study issues such as the impact of HRM practices on firms performance, managing change, business law, industrial relations, organisational culture, motivation and leadership. In the final year, students choose from a variety of options that address current issues and debates in HRM, and complete a dissertation.
HRM can be studied as a Single Honours Degree or as a Joint Honours Degree combined with subjects such as Business, Computing, Law, Marketing, Politics or Psychology.
