Objectives
The King's history degree is designed to develop critical thinking and independence of thought about the past. You begin by choosing modules offering a broad sweep of history in the first year. Many students find the emphasis on change over long periods of time a welcome relief from the short periods studied at A-level. You move on to select more focused options in your second and third year, as well as a thematic special subject which encourages your to think theoretically and comparatively about the periods and places you have studied at the end of your degree. The unrivalled range of history options offered at Kings and across London University ensures that you can choose a coherent course of study that satisfies your particular interest
