ObjectivesEach year you will take up to two modules in Linguistics. The first year will familiarise you with a broad range of issues and fields of study in modern linguistics, including syntax, morphology and semantics. Modules in the second year will build on these foundations. Students can choose from a wide range of modules, including historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, and semantic theory. In the final year, courses will mostly focus on interdisciplinary approaches: more specifically, text and discourse analysis as well as social and cultural aspects of language use.
