BA German and Economics

  • Objectives The course aims to improve your written and oral proficiency and your presentation in German and communication skills, as well as extending your academic knowledge. At the same time you will study Economics, giving you a solid grounding in modern economic theory, incorporating the issues underlying current debates on economic policy, and the quantitative and analytical skills essential for economists. The third year of this course is spent abroad, usually as a student at a university, as a language assistant in a school, or on a work placement approved by the department. We also have a number of places on summer courses in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

  • Entry requirements -GCE/VCE A Levels - BBB -BTEC National Diploma - 2 Distinctions and 1 Merit -Two GCE A Levels plus two GCE AS Levels - BB+BB -Scottish Highers - AABB -Irish Leaving Cert. - ABBBB -International Baccalaureate - 30-32 points -Core Requirements - Grade B in GCE A Level German and Grade B in GCSE Maths. Economics not essential.
