BA French and Philosophy

  • Objectives French As the European Union plays an ever more important part in the professional experience of companies, the ability to work in more than one language is increasingly recognised as a major asset. Our courses aim to make you highly proficient in French and able to apply your language skills in a number of professional areas. You will also gain a good knowledge of the French social, political and cultural contexts and of France's pivotal place in Europe. Philosophy The study of Philosophy is the most rewarding of all fields. It is also amongst the most universally useful of all subjects, since the skills Philosophy students acquire are those skills that are required for any branch of human intellectual activity, whether campaigning for something to change, presenting or formulating a new idea; making an argument, or simply being able to understand any argument, no matter who might be making it.
