Course description
BA Film Studies
Programme
Students have the opportunity to study the history of cinema, and to analyse both classic and contemporary films from a variety of countries.
Year One provides a thorough introduction to issues, ideas and practices associated with contemporary and historical film cultures, and places film within the context of other media. Year Two builds on this foundation with two modules examining International Cinema and Film Theory, and British and American Film History. Year Three allows the opportunity for greater choice and more in-depth and independent study through a dissertation, and specialist modules on Contemporary Film, Cult Film, Genres and National Cinemas.
