Entry requirementsEntry requirements Students should normally have a good portfolio, plus one of the following: * Successful completion of an Art and Design Foundation Course * National Diploma merit profile in a relevant subject * 240 points, to include two GCE/VCE A Levels. At least one A Level should be in an art or design subject. All equivalent international qualifications are welcome, as are applications from mature students (21+) with alternative qualifications and/or work experience.

Programme
This course covers the professional field of design for performance, from one off live-art performance to full scale productions of music, theatre, film and television. It prepares students to become skilled and innovative designers or production managers.
Year One introduces students to the full range of processes and skills of the subject. Extensive workshop inductions develop skills in materials such as wood, metals, fabric, plastics, paper, paint, clay and the technical processes involving painting, printmaking, video, photography, animation, casting and in the areas of sound, lighting and stage management.
In Year Two students extend their skills in chosen techniques and processes, develop an understanding of the designer's role and begin to forge an individual creative direction.
In Year Three students develop an individual creative practice and consolidate the skills necessary to embark on a professional career.
The Study of contextual, critical and historical aspects of the subject and the application of digital technology form an important part of the programme. Students participate in live projects, study visits and placements in relevant design and production companies.
