BA Creative and Professional Writing

  • Objectives This part-time course offers a general introduction to the field of creative writing and the opportunity to develop your own creativity, knowledge and critical judgement. It includes modules on writing fiction, poetry and the short story as well as others focused on aspects of creative development, creative reading and writing for particular markets. It can be used as part of a degree and as an accredited qualification in its own right. The flexible, part-time structure of the programme enables you to fit your study around work and family commitments.
  • Entry requirements To study at The University of Nottingham you must normally be at least 18 on 1st September in the year you enter the University. If by that date you will be under 18, but at least 16, you can still study at the University. However, in that case, we will need your parents or guardians to agree to some extra safeguards because the law regards you as a minor until you are 18. You must also satisfy the requirements of the course(s) for which you are applying. Entry requirements are detailed in individual course fact files.
