BA Counselling Studies

  • Objectives This course provides an opportunity to explore the nature of relationships, how to help others to help themselves and a chance to find out about how people see you. The themes of theory, skills, personal development and work experience are woven through the programme with a lot of participative and experiential involvement. The learning is built around your programme group, and reflections on your own experiences. You will receive training in the use of counselling skills. Learning about helpful interventions and developing how you talk to people are highly prized qualities in many occupations.
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements You will need three GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English Language (Maths also needed for Psychology option), plus one of the following: * 160 points (including a minimum of two A2 Levels or a 12 unit AVCE or a combination) or * 160 points from BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or * Equivalent Scottish, Irish, Welsh or overseas qualifications or * An equivalent qualification to those listed above (eg Access to Higher Education Certificate, International Baccalaureate)
