BA Business Studies
Programme
Business is driven by commercial, environmental, social and economic influences and is a lively and challenging area in which to study and work. This programme provides a foundation in fundamental business concepts, ideas, practices and methods, and offers students the opportunity to follow a broad business pathway or focus on a specialist area such as marketing, human resource management or finance.
Year One introduces the key principles of the business world. Typical modules cover Business Environment, Organisational Behaviour, Accounting, Business Communications and Analysis and Principles of Marketing. In Year Two students can begin to focus on a particular area of business if they wish to, or continue studying a range of different business subjects. In the final year, students study core modules in Strategic Management and contemporary Business Issues. They can then choose from a wide range of modules across the subjects of marketing, accounting and finance, HRM or general business.
Business can also be studied as a Joint Honours Degree and combined with subjects such as Accounting, Computing, Finance, HRM, Law, Media Studies or Technology.
