Objectives
This practice-based course is designed to develop a creative and innovative approach to 3D graphic arts using the book as the primary medium. This full time, three year undergraduate course is recognised as being the best available in this field and is a result of feedback and research from past graduates of the BA (Hons) Book Arts & Crafts course, which it replaces.

Entry requirements
1 'A’ level /AVCE and 3 GCSEs / foundation: 2 'A’s and portfolio: 5 GCSEs Foundation Diploma or Foundation degree FdA or or EDEXCEL/BTEC ND in relevant subjects.

BA Book Arts and Design
Programme
Year 1 includes:
* book design and production
* illustration
* book structure design and bookbinding
* photography and digital applications
* fine print and printmaking
* cultural studies
Year 2 includes:
* form and function
* illustration and decoration
* advanced printmaking (including screen and letterpress printing)
* artist’s books
There are also units available in advanced design bookbinding, oriental structures and digital applications in book design. A more focused direction is taken in this year, where some applications may be studied in depth, and some areas dropped.
Year 3 is a student led year where you will undertake a written project and produce two practical major projects to a professional level for exhibition.
