Classics embraces the study of all aspects of the cultures of Greece and Rome (their languages, literature, thought, religion, art, archaeology and history) and their influence on later ages. King's Classics Department is acknowledged as one of the very best in the country, and the variety and flexibility of our teaching reflects the richness of the subject.

Entry Requirements -International Baccalaureate 34 points overall including HL6 in English and History -Irish Leaving Certificate A1 A1 B1 B1 B2 B2 at Higher level including grade B1 in English or History -European Baccalaureate 80% overall inc 80% in English or History -USA: Advanced Placement Tests Three AP subjects with 544 including English or History at grade 5 -Australia: Tertiary Entrance Ranking 95+ Tertiary Entrance Ranking, or an OP of band 4 for Queensland

BA Ancient History
This programme is for those who wish to concentrate on the history of the ancient world; prior acquaintance with Greek or Latin is welcomed, but not assumed. We encourage the learning of Greek and Latin as fundamental to the study of the ancient world: we teach both, from beginners level up, and expect all our students to pass at least one language module. Our teaching will equip you with the analytical and presentational transferable skills valued by employers.
