  • Objectives * Successful completion of these degrees helps accelerate your career, and prepares you for the challenges of modern-day accountancy * They cover the very latest practices and theories of accounting and finance * They offer significant exemptions from some of the UK’s leading professional accountancy bodies, particularly the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) * Gain skills and knowledge based on accounting and finance, as well as other business-related areas such as IT and Human Resources * If you wish to specialise in this area, take BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance. If you want to combine your study of accountancy with another subject, the BA (Hons) Accounting route allows you to do this

    Programme

    -Your first year explores business law, effective data analysis for business planning, and economics from an accountant’s perspective. It also introduces the fundamentals of both financial and management accounting, as well as investigating techniques and procedures to ensure the efficient use of human resources.
     
    -Year 2 examines business law and financial accounting in further depth. You may look at auditing and business analysis, and explore the intricacies of taxation, as well as the vital importance of financial planning and decision making.
     
    -Year 3 could be spent on an optional work placement to gain an insight into working practices at the sharp end, or you may move directly to your final year which deals with contemporary issues in accounting, financial reporting and audit, as well as the techniques used in strategic managerial decision making.
