Entry requirements Learners wishing to start a sports apprenticeship must be employed in the sports industry for a minimum of 16 hours per week and be able to attend college one day a week.

Course description
General information
The sport apprenticeship is available for learners aged from 16 - 65 who are employed in the sports industry for a minimum of 16 hours a week. College attendance is on a day-release basis and assessment will take place in the workplace. Learners are required to build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their skills, understanding and knowledge of the subject. Training is provided through workshop sessions, tutorials and classroom teaching.
Course content
In-house training will take place one day a week and regular assessments and reviews will occur in the workplace. Learners will work towards an NVQ level 2 in Operational services, 2 technical certificates appropriate to their particular workplace (a combination of practical and theory work), level 1 keyskills in Application of Number and Communication and Employer's Rights and Responsibilities. Further qualifications may be required dependant on the workplace.
