  • Objectives * To provide a comprehensive grounding in animal conservation and biodiversity * To analyse strategies for conserving habitats across the world * To apply principles of conservation, animal ecology and wildlife management
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements Standard university entry requirements apply 160 UCAS points from: 2 A-levels at grade C; or a National Diploma at PMM; or equivalent qualifications in appropriate subjects, supported by GCSEs Life expereiences are taken into account when considering applications. Applications from mature students are also welcome Equivalent qualifications and/or work experience for mature candidates will be considered

  • Course description This programme concentrates on understanding the theoretical and practical aspects of animal conservation and biodiversity in both the UK and abroad in order to prepare for a wide variety of career opportunities in the animal conservation and ecological industries.

    The programme examines in detail practical conservation management, with final year students completing a dissertation related to a conservation and biodiversity theme of their own choice.

    Specialist equipment / facilities

    Over 120 species, paddocks with grazing animals and specialist rooms for aquatics, reptiles, invertebrates and small mammals. In addition, exotic bird aviaries, a veterinary examination room and a new arctic fox enclosure

    Written assignments, projects, presentations and exams

    Management and technical positions in the industry, both UK and abroad. Progression to related MSc or PhD programmes
