Course descriptionCourse description
The research project is the key element of the Agricultural and Environmental Engineering MSc by Research and provides the opportunity to specialise in a particular area of study in line with students’ career interests and aspirations.
To reflect the current pan-European approach of many multi-national organisations, many of the projects can be undertaken in continental Europe.
As well as the latest computer hardware and software facilities – including computer aided engineering (CAE), finite element analysis (FEA), geographical information systems (GIS), digital terrain modelling (DTM) and satellite image analysis – students use the following state-of-the-art research facilities:
* comprehensive land equipment laboratory
* unique UK soil dynamics laboratory
* unique Off-Road Vehicle Dynamics facility
* irrigation and drainage laboratory, including impressive rainfall simulator equipment
* soil physics and mechanics laboratory
* biological and chemical analysis facilities.
