Entry requirementsEntry requirements: We require a First or Upper Second class honours degree, or the overseas equivalent, in computer science, or in a joint degree with at least 50% computer science content. Applicants with extensive computer science industrial experience and a good honours degree, or its overseas equivalent, may also be considered for admission.

Course descriptionCourse descriptionThis is a high quality programme aimed at imparting advanced knowledge across a broad range of Computer Science and offering training in advanced skills. It is suitable for those who wish to enhance their computing skills in order to improve their contribution to IT-related industry or to pursue R&D in academia or industry.There are two entry routes into this programme: (1) for those who have studied a substantial amount of Computer Science and (2) a foundation route for others with a good degree in Science or Engineering. You may either choose to take a broad based MSc with taught course units and research project drawn from the wide range on offer, or you may choose to specialise in High Performance Computing, Formal Methods, Software Engineering, Advanced Applications or Artificial Intelligence.There are currently 38 course units to choose from, focusing on the research strengths of the School.
